Six new heroes have been added to Deadlock, and the map has been significantly revamped. Valve has redesigned the map, replaced neutral enemies, added a temporary vendor, and introduced six new heroes. The shop, interface, and practice mode have also been updated. In this article, we’ll break down what’s already available in Deadlock and when the new heroes will be released.
Six heroes were announced in City Never Sleeps. They will be released gradually, with players voting to determine the order.
Nurse Harrow — a nurse with a frightening appearance. A stern and intimidating savior.

Deadman Danny — a reanimated stuntman. His persona is associated with dangerous stunts, flights, and explosions, like a cool skeleton from internet memes.

Baba — an elderly lady sitting on a bench with pigeons.

Solomon — a chess player and strategist. He is portrayed as a strategist capable of outwitting the enemy through tactics.

Rat King — the king of rats. He is known for his tenacity, feisty personality, and regal airs.

Violet (Violetta) — an artist. Her image is associated with creativity, dexterity, and ambition.

The first hero will appear on October 3 at 12:00 a.m. Moscow Time. Characters will then be added twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays at midnight Moscow Time.
Voting takes place in the pre-match lobby. Votes from the winning team count double, and the first victory of the day also grants a voting bonus. Once the hero release begins, players will be able to earn Priority Tokens to increase their chances of selecting a new character.
The update has revamped the existing New York map. Each of the three lanes now has its own distinct look:
Broadway, the blue line—city neighborhoods, Times Square, and the subway.

Greenwich, the green line—Umbria University, Central Park, and residential buildings.

York, the yellow line—the stock exchange, the port, and the Old Fairfax factories.

Between the lines are four districts: Theater, Chinatown, Haunted Quarter, and Plaza. They help players navigate the map and add variety to the city.

The previous neutral enemies have been replaced by Possessed Creatures. Among them are reanimated books, hands, trash monsters, and Mimics disguised as barrels. It’s not just their appearance that has changed: the new enemies have unique behavior patterns, so your usual methods for clearing camps may no longer work.
New farming spots and useful locations have appeared on the map:
The Broker exchanges high-level items for their Corrupted versions. These items gain both positive and negative stats. The set of modifiers is determined for each match and is the same for all players in that match.
The first item appears around the 30-minute mark, with subsequent offers appearing on average every 15 minutes. The Broker is available temporarily: Valve plans to remove him upon the release of the first new hero.
